Shutdown Screensaver is a small application which combines a screensaver and different shutdown options. When the screensaver is activated, a shutdown option will be executed after a certain period of time.
Once the program is installed, a screensaver is automatically added as Shutdown Screensaver in the Windows Screensaver list; so you can set the minutes to activate it and adjust its parameters.
The available shutdown options you can use are: shutdown, standby, restart, log off, and lock off station.
You can specify the period of time to shutdown with the Countdown timer. You can perform a task command before shutting the computer down, but this option is recommended for system administrators and advanced users only. You can enable the Force Shutdown option to stop all processes and forcefully shut down your PC, but if this option is enabled, your open documents won't be saved.
You can also enable an option for laptops to ensure battery life time remaining is sufficient.
You can terminate the countdown timer by simply deactivating the screensaver.
